Midweek musings

The sitting room is slowly filling with the smell of baking, wafting in from the kitchen, pushed towards me by the ceiling fans.

The ceilings fans are becoming a necessity as the weather grows hotter and full dinners are losing their appeal. What hasn't yet lost it's appeal is the taste of cake, fresh from the oven.

I'm indulging my inner hermit tonight and enjoying an evening at home alone. My latest Dervla Murphy book is indulging both my wandering soul and my love for history. "The Island that Dared" is a travelogue and a serious look at the history of Cuba. I think I might have to go there next.

Well, next after all the African trips planned for the first half of 2011. I'll be sharing more on those over the next while, as we plan.

I must go rescue my cake!
