Sleep, well earned sleep

While I agree whole heartedly that there is something amiss in this consumer focused society, with fast throw-away fashion, goods and food growing strongly at a cost to our society, to our well being, both physical and moral, sometimes IKEA just does the trick!

We braved rush hour traffic in a borrowed car, got lost, got found thanks to some good map reading skills on James’s part and pulled up in front of the big blue and yellow building in time for dinner. Swedish meatballs. Delicious.

IKEA is tricksy. It draws you into a world of bits and pieces and suddenly you end up with a bag full of stuff and nothing you wanted originally. I was strong this time though. We ended up with a bag full of stuff but I maintain they are useful things such as kitchen ware that we’ll need and use for a long time to come. However in sticking to our guns we succeeded in getting the mattress topper that we so desperately needed, extra kitchen chairs that fold and allow us to make use of the much smaller space we live in now and still given dinner parties! Never mind the rest, I slept well last night and woke with no aching limbs or joints. That’s success.
