Interesting Perspectives

I'm back!

I know I can sometimes take a negative view of the world, my world in particular, at times. I try not to view past happenings as mistakes but as lessons learned and opportunities to understand more about me and how I should act in the future. However, I don’t seem to be able to turn the same positive view onto my current situation.

I’ve decided I definitely have to try. Sunday evening I took off to the beach with two friends for a quick pre-sunset ocean dip (the sun sets unfortunately early here so you have to take advantage of daylight while you can). Two of us plunged straight in and floated around in salty water which was about the temperature of a comfortable bath. As we floated we discussed life, the universe and everything; from boys to work, to friendships and living far away from home. She told me that she considered me to be pretty sorted: in terms of career, relationship and home. I have a job that I may not love but that will stand to me in years to come and has provided me with good working experience and a good salary for the past four and a half years. I have my own flat that I am more than able to pay the mortgage on and it is in London where it should always give a return. I am in a long term relationship with a wonderful man who I envisage always being with and who clearly is just as mad about me as I am about him.

Put that way I think I am beyond lucky! And I think I need to remember that in future whenever life’s little niggles start to get to me.
