Finally at the end of my no-good, bad and terrible week I can’t help feel a little sad and nostalgic when I see Facebook updates about friends out here heading home for Christmas, about friends at home experiencing snow (what I would consider ideal Christmas weather as long as it doesn’t prevent them from flying home) and about Christmas festivities I know I should or would be at given different circumstances.
However, the no-good bad week is nearly at an end and I can nearly count on one hand the number of hours I have to wait before I pick up my very good, amazing friend from the airport. The tension is palpable. Now I just need to make it through this afternoon at work, get flowers to put in the spare bedroom to welcome the wonderful girl, potentially attend leaving drinks of a colleague at work, drive to a sick colleague’s house to deliver a card and goodie basket but together by the office and then get to the airport. Simple! I’m sure nothing will go wrong.
We’ll be off to my favourite tropical island tomorrow morning and I won’t be back until Monday morning, so I hope that everyone has a wonderful weekend and here’s wishing for a much better week next week.
