I feel like I need one of these parasols today to cheer up my day and keep some of this rain off. I'm supposed to be living in sunshine paradise but today it feels more like a gloomy summer day at home. I'm even finding it on the chilly side with the wind coming in off the sea.
Gloomy as it may be I must not complain. I've still seen more sunshine in the last two months than in quite some time. In the (continued absence) of real work to contentrate on I am devising other methods of distracting my mind and bringing a little sunshine into my day:
~ Blogging
~ Reading other creative blogs for inspiration
~ Gathering the ingredients for a lemon-yogurt cake in order to have a little baking session later this afternoon - yummy!
~ Planning a tasty picnic lunch for a beach trip tomorrow - hurray for days off mid-week!
~ Starting a creative scrapbook from inspiring images from my magazine collection
~ A cup of steaming hot tea and a new (to me) Graham Greene book, "Twenty-One Stories". My attention span is a bit screwy at the moment so short stories are perfect.
How do you cheer up a dull day?

I wrote a post about this a while back:

That has some of my favourite ways to rescue a bad day. In fact, making the list itself made me feel so much better, I recall!
I like nothing better than curling up with a good book and a mug of something nice on a gloomy day.
Going for a run always helps too. A reminder to be mentally tough as well as physically.
Sending you loads of sunshine :D xx
What a great list. I'm going to refer to it in the future.
ReplyDeleteAnd I did go the gym this evening and came home to see your suggestion of a run. Exercise can do amazing things! Thanks.
