It was so good to see the sun today. There were times during the week when I thought the rain would never stop. About 55 hours of non stop rain makes Dar grind to a halt. Sitting on the 10th floor of the building in my office my view of the city would regularly be obscured by pounding rain and low lying cloud. The roads ground to a halt as floods spread across them. Dar isn't made for rain.
Today I got to enjoy the sight of blue sky and sunshine while I recovered from an excellent party. The Dutch, they know how to celebrate their national day. They had a band in which played amazing cover versions of everything under the sun. They sounded like the real thing no matter who they were playing. I danced until nearly 3am. It's been a long time since I've done that. I believe the tactical nap after work helped me to make it until that time.
