Perils of eating out

The perils of eating out in Tanzania is the ever present risk of it going wrong and you ending up with some rotten side effects. Now, don’t get me wrong, it’s entirely possible to do this to yourself also and for it to happen anywhere in the world but I have a strong stomach and am rarely ill but am currently suffering from another bout of “why did I try that new restaurant – oh that’s right, because I’m sick of Subway for lunch and now I’m suffering for my adventures”.

The thing that’s really annoying about this one (except for the fact that it’s not quite bad enough for me to skip work) is that my friend and I ate in what appeared to be a really up-market restaurant. The service was good, the setting impeccable and then the food. Mine, grilled calamari, seemed to be fine. Hers, tuna, was tough and she left half of it on her plate. I suppose that should have been a clue.

Anyway now my insides aren’t thanking me and my belly still feels sore a day later. Oh, the perils!
